I read an article this morning about Hawaii drafting a law blocking requests for Obama's birth certificate. This makes no sense to me at all. While I am not a birther, they make some valid points. The Obama campaign spents millions defending lawsuits on the topic. Why defend something you can simply cure by opening the records? It seems the little I have looked into this, the President has dodged this issue. Again, why dodge something as simple as this? Also, just because he was born here does not necessarly make him a citizen. If he did indeed become a citizen of Indonesia, as some have claimed, then he is no longer a natural born citizen under the law. This is not a minor issue. Especially when you can see on a regular basis how his time living in Africa has created and driven his agenda.

Ahhhhhh!! It's unofficial!

   Every year about this time, when February gives way to March, I look forward to what I've come to know as the "unofficial" start to Spring.  Yesterday at 3pm, WLW700 In Cincinnati aired the first Spring training game for the Reds.  The broadcast started off with the voice of Marty Brennaman saying, "Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Reds baseball."

   Something changes all of the sudden within me.  It's no longer "winter" in my mind and soul. The weight of the cold and darkness is lifted.  It's like someone snapped their fingers in my face, and woke me up out of a long, ugly "coma."  It brings a smile to my face and a skip in my step.  There are things to do.  Gotta get out of the house.  Less TV for sure.  Take my dog on longer walks.  Spring cleaning (yeah, I actually look forward to this) and yard work!

   I hate Winter.  I hate dirty snow along the side of the road, and dead trees and bushes.  I hate the grime and salt all over my car.  I hate having to bundle up just to get the mail.  I hate the heating bill.  I hate getting "zapped" everytime I touch something or someone.  I hate ice unless it's in my tea.

   But...I love Winter for how it makes me feel when it departs.  Because of Winter, I'm so much more appreciative of the onset of new life, more light, warmth, colors, birds singing in the morning, and (even thought they stink), yes...Reds baseball!  

   Spring...it's the most wonderful time of the year.  Reminds me of a song from back in the day...revisions in italics:
